Chamaedorea. (Parlour palm)

Graceful, small palm with dark green, soft, fern-like fronds.
Native Violet (Viola hederacea).
HEIGHT: up to 20cm | IDEAL POSITION: Shade / semi shade| IN SEASON: All year.
Easy to grow with pale mauve and white small flowers throughout the year. Ideal ground cover for shady spots in gardens, along paths or next to ponds.
Cordyline fruticosa.
HEIGHT: up to 1 m | IDEAL POSITION: Shade outdoors| IN SEASON: All year.
Evergreeb shrub, with colourful, strap-like foliage.
Shell Ginger (Alpinia zerumbet).
HEIGHT: 2.5 to 3m | IDEAL POSITION: Partly shaded position| IN SEASON: All year.
Clump forming ornamental ginger, evergreen tropical perennial. Dark green leaves with yellow stripes. Prefers part shade and some sun. Ideal for warm gardens and for adding a tropical feel to garden designs.
Elephant’s ear (Alocasia amazonica).

Striking perennial with large glossy green, arrow-shaped leaves, marked with cream veining. Keep moist but not wet, very well drained soil to keep from root rot and fungal infections.

Tropical evergreen shrub or semi-climber with bold foliage in different shapes and patterns. Keep moist during summer.
Fern sp.
HEIGHT: 0.20-2 m | IDEAL POSITION: Shade | IN SEASON: All year.
Ferns comes in many varieties but mostly with long, feathery leaves. Popular as indoor plants or part shade outdoor, out of the wind. Keep soil moist but not wet. Example of varieties: Bird’s nest, Maiden’s hair, Silver Lace fern and more.
Monstera deliciosa (Swiss cheese plant).

Lush, tropical plant with large, green leaves in unique shapes. Fast growing.
Hellebores (winter rose).
HEIGHT: up to 50cm | IDEAL POSITION: Full or part shade| IN SEASON: Winter.
Evergreen, perenneial that frefers cooler weather and flowers in winter. Very reliable and hardy.
Camellia.
HEIGHT: up to 3m | IDEAL POSITION: Full or part shade| IN SEASON: Flowers in autumn
Evergreen shrub with lush green foliage and flamboyant flowers in autumn-winter. Great as flowering fences (hedges) or as a feature plant in the garden.
Hydrangea macrophylla.

Decidous shrub with large, spectacular flower heads in different shades of blue, pink and many more. Perfect for pots and in ground. Stay out of direct sun, their leaves get burnt easily by the sun. Very hardy.
Azalea (Rhododendron sp.)

Evergreen shrub with lots of flowers in spring. Generally slow-growing and should be planted in acidic soil (specific soil and fertiliser for Azalea / Camellia / Gardenia.
